40th Regular Session
SB 134 Caption: Relating to allowing witness fees and mileage in all out county felony cases in the sum of five cents per mile for each mile traveled going and coming and two dollars per day for each day of service and such witnesses in all cases who attend in obedience to any process issued by any grand jury or any court in this State other than any county of their residence.
SB 222 Caption: Relating to granting to the Harris County Ship Channel Navigation District of Harris County, Texas, or its successors, all right, title and interest of the State of Texas, to certain islands and lands subject to overflow, and lands lying under the waters of certain bodies of water within Harris County Navigation District as far as the State may own same, for public purposes and for the development of commerce only.
SB 225 Caption: Relating to the payment of salary to the County Judge by the Commissioners' Court for presiding over said Court, ordering elections, making returns thereof, hearing and determining civil cases, and transacting all other official business, by providing that the amount so paid shall be ex-officio, and not accountable under the maximum fee bill, in counties of 150,000 population or more.
SB 226 Caption: Relating to creating an additional criminal district court for the County of Harris; and to provide for district, jurisdiction, and organization of, and procedure in said court.
SB 238 Caption: Relating to reviving and extending for a period of two years from the passage of this Act, Oil and Gas Permit No. 2609, embracing two hundred acres in San Jacinto Bay, Harris County, Texas, said reviving and extension to be upon the same terms and conditions on which the original permit was issued, except that the owners who may desire to take advantage of this Act shall pay into the General Land Office within thirty days after the taking effect hereof twenty-five cents per acre for each acre within the permit for the second year.
SB 239 Caption: Relating to providing for the care of dependent and delinquent colored girls; providing for the establishment and maintenance of a State Training School for such girls.
SB 245 Caption: Relating to amending Harris County Road Law with respect to the method of making purchases of materials and supplies and the awarding of contracts therefor.
SB 270 Caption: Relating to providing that assessments for street widening and street opening may be made payable in not exceeding sixteen annual payments.
SB 271 Caption: Relating to authorizing the establishment of building lines on streets in cities which now have, or may hereafter have, five thousand or more inhabitants, and to provide the manner in which damages may be determined and paid and benefits assessed and collected.
SB 304 Caption: Relating to authorizing the creation of corporations in this State under the general corporation laws for the purpose of owning, raising, selling and leasing animals used in circuses, menageries and zoos.
SB 316 Caption: Relating to providing that corporations organized and doing business under Section 10 of Article 4989, may invest the excess of their capital over and above fifty thousand dollars in purchase or construction of a complete abstract plant.
SB 349 Caption: Relating to extending the time and keeping in force for a period of three years from March 5, 1927, Oil and Gas Permit No. 9369, on 156.3 acres of the bed of San Jacinto River, Harris County, Texas, upon the same terms and conditions on which the original permit was issued.
SB 350 Caption: Relating to authorizing the Commissioners Court of the various Counties of the State of Texas to employ one or more nurses for the purpose of assisting in the promotion of public health and visiting and inspecting the pupils of the public Schools and to appropriate public funds in payment thereof.
SB 374 Caption: Relating to regulating the fees allowed attorneys in cases appealed to the Courts.
SB 427 Caption: Relating to authorizing the Commissioners' Court of any county to establish one or more drainage districts for the purpose of combining established drainage districts and for the filing of a petition therefor.
SB 437 Caption: Relating to reviving and extending the time of expiration of Oil and Gas Permit No. 7987, issued by the Commissioner of the General Land Office of the State of Texas on 36.2 acres of the bed of Goose Creek, in Harris County, Texas for a period of three years from June 11, 1927.

Compelling witnesses to testify before said Committees and giving immunity from prosecution to such witnesses as to any matter relating to or growing out of the testimony of such witnesses.
