• Visit and inspect the properties of the former Texas Presbyterian College in Milford, Texas, and confer with the present owners of the persons in charge of the same, and report as to the advisability of purchasing said property for the State to be used as a house for dependent and neglected children.*

Appointed by Lieutenant Governor 3/14/1935 and Speaker 3/15/1935, pursuant to HCR 36. See also HCR 103, providing for committee to be carried over and report to the 45th Legislature. Hugh Steward and Vernon Lemens (Members) appointed 3/27/1935 to "committee to make inspection trip to Ellis County to inspect property in regard to the establishment of certain State institution," replacing Robert Reader and Courtney Gray (Milford is in Ellis County).
