Remarks: This Act takes effect immediately, except Article 1 takes effect September 1, 2017, unless the board of trustees of the pension system established under Article 6243a-1, Revised Statutes, violates Section 6.142, Article 6243a-1, Revised Statutes, as added by this Act, on or before August 31, 2017, as determined by the State Pension Review Board. If, not later than August 31, 2017, the State Pension Review Board determines that the pension system violated Section 6.142, Article 6243a-1, Revised Statutes, as added by this Act, Article 1 of this Act has no effect.
