SJR 37, 59th Regular Session
Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Texas providing that the Legislature shall have the power to provide assistance to needy persons over the age of sixty-five years who are citizens of the United States and to needy persons over the age of sixty-five years who are not citizens of the United States but who have resided within the boundaries of the United States for at least twenty-five years immediately preceding application for such assistance; providing that no such assistance shall be paid to any inmate of any state-supported institution.
