Providing for and regulating the forms and content of individual accident and sickness insurance policies issued or issued for delivery in the state; defining certain terms and the purpose of this Act; expanding the applicability of the Act to include insurers covered in the Act, the form and content of policies, and the disclosure and sale of policies; establishing standards for policy provisions; declaring minimum standards for benefits and premium rates; providing for an outline of coverage; providing standards and periods of noncoverage for pre-existing conditions; establishing administrative procedures; providing for reasonable rules and regulations in the approval of policies; amending and expanding the powers of the State Board of Insurance regarding certain policy form approval procedures; striking certain accident and sickness policy provisions; providing and increasing penalties for violation of the provisions of this Act; enumerating certain exemptions.
