Trueheart [Sr.] came to Texas in the early part of 1839 with his brother John, who located at Galveston and was the father of the present representative of the Trueheart family in that city. James L. Trueheart, Sr., made his way to San Antonio and, locating there, became one of the prominent citizens and historical characters of this section of Texas . . .
