- Confederate States Army, Captain, Company D, 7th Texas Infantry; retired as Major. " . . . he helped organize and became captain of Company D, Seventh Texas Infantry. He saw action in Mississippi and Tennessee. He was taken prisoner during the capture of Fort Donelson, was exchanged in 1862, and received a certificate of disability in 1864 with the rank of major."
