HB 355 Caption: Relating to amending the Criminal Statutes by providing that no person shall deface, destroy or alter the serial number, engine number, or other distinguishing number on a motor vehicle, trailer, or semi-trailer; providing that the State Highway Department be authorized to assign a distinguishing number; providing that no vehicle required to be registered except trailers and semi-trailers with a registered gross weight in excess of 2,000 pounds, may be sold or operated upon the highways without a motor number, serial number, or permanent identification number; providing penalties for violation.
HB 356 Caption: Relating to amending certain acts by providing for fees of Tax Assessors-Collectors for issuing license receipts and license plates; providing that the Tax Assessor-Collector shall pay the entire expense of issuance of such license receipts and license plates and the cost of postage used in mailing same to applicants.
HB 357 Caption: Relating to amending certain acts to provide for the licensing and regulation of auto wreckers, junk dealers, and rebuilders of motor vehicles for resale; defining the term "person"; providing who shall obtain a license; providing for annual renewal of such license; placing the administration of the law in the State Highway Department and providing tis rights and duties in respect thereto; providing a penalty for failing to comply with the provisions of this Act and defining such penalty.
HB 358 Caption: Relating to amending certain acts authorizing the State Highway Department to issue plates or a single plate of metal or other material, symbols, tabs, or other devices which when attached to a vehicle shall be deemed to be the legal registration insignia for the registration year for which issued.
HB 359 Caption: Relating to amending the Penal Statutes; providing penalties for the operation of vehicles upon the public highways of this state when not registered as required by law; providing for the County or District Attorney and the Attorney General of Texas to restrain by injunction the operation of vehicles not registered in the county of the Owner's residence and fixing jurisdiction.
HB 360 Caption: Relating to amending certain acts by providing for fees derived from the issuance of duplicate license receipts to be retained by the office issuing same as a fee of office.
HB 361 Caption: Relating to amending certain acts providing for the elimination of the requirement that Certificates of Title be mailed by first class mail.
HB 362 Caption: Relating to amending certain acts so as to provide for an increase in the annual fee for a Dealer License Plate from Fifteen ($15.00) Dollars to Twenty-Five ($25.00) Dollars and to provide for an increase in the annual fee for additional Dealers license plated from Five ($5.00) Dollars to Fifteen ($15.00) Dollars; providing that no commercial vehicle, truck-tractor, bus, trailer or semi-trailer may carry a load while operating with Dealer license plates.

HB 486 Caption: Relating to providing for liability on the part of fire, fire and marine, marine, tornado, rent accident, casualty, liability, health, elevator, disability, plate glass, burglary, surety, or fidelity insurance companies for damages and attorney fees for failure to pay damages within ninety (90) days; providing this Act shall be severable.
HB 532 Caption: Relating to amending a certain Article relative to Commissioners Court's authority over streets and alleys in unincorporated towns, etc.
HB 814 Caption: Relating to authorizing Boards of Trustees or Boards of Regents of Texas Public Junior Colleges to erect dormitories, cottages or stadiums to be self-liquidating from revenues earned form same, authorizing the execution of notes and bonds therefor, and providing in addition to revenues earned by said improvements to allow in the event of an emergency supplementing same from not exceeding twenty-five (25%) per cent of local funds and authorizing the respective Boards of said Institutions to do any and all things necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
HB 854 Caption: Relating to creating the office of District Attorney in the 66th Judicial District composed of Hill County; providing for the appointment of a District Attorney for said Judicial District by the Governor to serve from September 1, 1949 until the next general election and until his successor is duly elected and qualified; providing for an election of District Attorney for said Judicial District at the next general election after the effective date of this Act and each general election thereafter, providing this Act shall become operational September 1, 1949.
