- Ascertain who are the heirs, legatees or other legal representatives of the estate of the said H.A. McArdle, deceased, and in whom legal title to such paintings is vested, and upon what terms said paintings can be purchased by the state.

Two oil paintings by H.A. McArdle which hung in the Senate chamber with titles "Dawn at the Alamo" and "The Battle of San Jacinto." Two oil paintings by H.A. McArdle which hung in the House chamber with titles "The Settlement of Austin's Colony" and "The Log Cabin" were returned to James T. DeShields pursuant to HR by Jacks located at H.J. of Tex., 40th Leg., 1st C.S. 507 (1927).
