- Review the state's dropout prevention and recovery efforts, with the goal of facilitating better evaluation of and cooperation among existing programs and recommend ways to deploy resources more effectively and efficiently to improve graduation rates and reduce dropout.
- Review the current leaver code system and methodologies for calculating dropout rates and recommend ways to simplify and improve the reporting of completion and dropout numbers.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a new statewide computer system to track student's progress towards high school graduation.
