Charges

To study and evaluate Article 4.11 of the Texas Insurance Code and its effects upon the taxation of foreign and domestic life, accident and health insurance companies, to identify inequities, if any, in the taxation of such companies, to further identify inequities in Article 21.46, Texas Insurance Code, with respect to retaliatory taxes, to make recommendations to the legislature for the elimination of any such inequities in order to produce tax equality consistent with applicable decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court and to make such other recommendations to the legislature as the task force shall consider appropriate.
