- Maintain liaison with the Department of Public Safety, the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education and any other federal, state, or local agency having jurisdiction over the training of law enforcement officers.
- Conduct a complete interim study of the law enforcement training programs in Texas, with special emphasis on sociological training in police-community relations and programs of continuing education.
