Governor's communication 1/10/1854 transmitting report of James B. Shaw, Comptroller, and James H. Raymond, Treasurer, as commissioners for the erection of a fire-proof building for a Treasury Department and Comptroller's Office of the Republic of Texas, together with a copy of the contract made by them with Michael DeChaumes, for the construction of said building; commissioners requesting a joint committee of the Legislature (House Journal, 5th R.S., part II, pp. 137-138).
Senate appointees reported in House 1/18/1854; Marion DeKalb Taylor listed as Chairman on part of the Senate, and Parsons on the part of the House, in "joint committee" report 1/21/1854 (House Journal, part II, pp. 198, 226-227).
