- Study the public retirement systems in Texas; the study shall include an evaluation of the actuarial soundness of the major public retirement systems; the committee shall also develop a reference manual of basic information on public retirement systems in Texas for the use of the Legislature.
- Study the advisability of changing the homestead exemption provision of the constitution to allow a homeowner to negotiate for a loan secured by an encumbrance on his homestead.
