HBA-EDN S.B. 74 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Office of House Bill AnalysisS.B. 74 By: Haywood Higher Education 4/1/2001 Engrossed BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Currently, the operating code for the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science contains outdated information relating to varying lengths of the terms of service served by the original members of the advisory board, who have since fulfilled their terms. The current board members all serve six-year terms. Senate Bill 74 removes this obsolete language from the operating code of the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. ANALYSIS Senate Bill 74 amends the Education Code to remove provisions for the terms of the original members of the advisory board of the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. EFFECTIVE DATE On passage.
