HBA-SEP S.B. 181 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Office of House Bill AnalysisS.B. 181 By: Fraser Judicial Affairs 4/2/2001 Engrossed BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Current law provides that the terms of the 32nd District Court, comprised of the counties of Nolan, Mitchell, and Fisher, begin on different dates which judges and prosecutors may find difficult. Senate Bill 181 modifies the terms of the 32nd District Court to begin on the first Monday in January, May, and September. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. ANALYSIS Senate Bill 181 amends the Government Code by modifying the terms of the 32nd District Court in each county in the district such that the terms begin on the first Monday in January, May, and September. EFFECTIVE DATE January 1, 2002.
