BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Currently, Johnson and Somervell counties are part of the Third
Administrative Judicial Region (region), which is composed of 28 counties.
Due to the large size of the region and the time constraints on the judge,
Johnson and Somervell counties have requested that they be included in the
composition of the Eighth Administrative Judicial Region. H.B. 2096
transfers Johnson and Somervell counties to the Eighth Administrative
Judicial Region.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does
not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state

Judicial Region to the Eighth Administrative Judicial Region.
