BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Currently, some conservators of the peace are prohibited from carrying a
weapon in this state under certain circumstances. H.B. 915 authorizes
other conservators of the peace, as well as peace officers, to carry a
weapon in this state, regardless of whether the officer is engaged in the
actual discharge of the officer's duties while carrying the weapon.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does
not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, department, agency, or institution.

from carrying a weapon in this state, regardless of whether the officer is
engaged in the actual discharge of the officer's duties while carrying the
weapon. Makes conforming and nonsubstantive changes.
