Introduced

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Currently, counties are allowed to impose an optional fee for the
registration of vehicles to be deposited in the county road and bridge
fund. All-terrain vehicles are subject to this optional $10 fee, but
statute prohibits the operation of an all-terrain vehicle on public roads
and bridges. H.B. 523 exempts all-terrain vehicles from the optional $10
country road and bridge fee.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does
not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, department, agency, or institution.
