BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Under current law, nine members are required to serve on the Booker
Hospital District board of directors (board). Since Booker is a town with
approximately 1,300 citizens, it may be difficult to find qualified
recruits willing to serve on the hospital board. H.B. 1922 lowers the
number of board members from nine to seven.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does
not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, department, agency, or institution.
