HB 415, 36th R.S.
Relating to providing that any sheriff or other peace officer in this State who shall unlawfully commit or permit another to commit an assault and battery upon the person of any prisoner in his custody shall be deemed guilty of a felony and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by confinement in the State Penitentiary for a period of time not less than one nor more than three years within the discretion of the jury.
