Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Texas giving the Legislature the power to provide, under such limitations and restrictions as may be deemed by the Legislature expedient, for assistance on behalf of persons eligible for Old Age Assistance, Aid to the Blind, and Aid to Dependent Children and for persons eligible for Aid to the Permanently and Totally Disabled.

Proposition Prop. 8 - For the amendment to the Constitution giving the Legislature the power to authorize vendor payments for medical care in addition to the amount paid in the form of direct public assistance to and on behalf of needy recipients of Old Age Assistance, Aid to the Blind, Aid to Dependent Children or Aid to the Permanently and Totally Disabled; providing for the acceptance of funds from the Federal Government for the purpose of paying such assistance; and providing that the expenditure out of State Funds for such purposes shall never exceed the amounts so expended out of Federal Funds.
