Relating to providing group life, accident and health insurance and benefits coverages on employees of the State of Texas; designating this Act as the "Texas Employees Uniform Group Insurance Benefits Act"; defining terms; stating legislative purposes and policies; vesting authority in a State Board of Trustees as designated therein to implement, administer and carry out the purposes of the Act; providing certain powers, duties, and responsibilities of such board; authorizing certain specifications, procedures and practices in regard to providing insurance coverages and benefits; creating the Employees Life, Accident and Health Insurance and Benefits Fund; authorizing coverage for dependents; exempting certain employees from provisions of the Act; providing certain regulations as to insurance carriers; protecting interests of insureds against execution, attachment or garnishment; providing order or precedence and escheat provisions in regard to death claims; creating a Group Insurance Advisory Committee; providing for appropriations by the legislature and specifying the sources for payment of premiums; providing a repealing clause; making the provisions of this Act severable.
