HB 2, 53rd R.S.
Relating to levying an excise tax upon the use by any person, firm, corporation or association of persons engaged in the State of Texas in the transmission of gas as herein defined through a pipe line or pipelines, either common carrier or private, or electrical or mechanical power for any prime mover or engine used to supply mechanical power to any compressor operated in the conduct of such pipeline business, measured by the horsepower of any such prime mover or engine, in excess of ten horsepower; providing for penalties and the power of the Attorney General to file suit for all delinquent taxes and penalties.
