SB 128, 67th R.S.
Relating to the licensing and regulation of those persons engaged in the business of acting as surety for compensation on bail bonds in criminal cases or employed in such business and to the procedures by which such bail is forfeited; creating County Bail Bond Boards to be composed of certain specified local officials or their designees; defining the powers, duties and responsibilities of such boards and of their licensees; specifying who must obtain a license, the cost of such license, the materials and information which must be furnished as a part of the license application, the records which must be maintained by licensees, the security deposits which must be posted by licensees in a specified ratio to bail bond obligations in fore, the grounds and procedures on which a license may be refused, suspended, revoked or canceled and the manner in which the surety on a bail bond obligation may have himself removed from the bond; detailing an efficient and timely manner of forfeiting bail.
