HB 37	Caption: Relating to amending certain Statutes by abolishing the Board of Water Engineers of the State of Texas and establishing as its successor the Texas Water Commission.
HB 40	Caption: Relating to defining and regulating the business of representing the Legal Reserve Life Insurance Companies as agent; to provide for the licensing of agents for such insurers; to provide minimum standards and qualifications as conditions precedent to issuance of licenses; to provide penalties for violations of this Act.
HB 41	Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts so as to require that everyone who takes any waters flowing in a natural stream or water course, by virtue of a permit, shall file certain information with the Board of Water Engineers; exempting those taking water for domestic and livestock purposes; providing certain penalties; protecting the rights of riparians.
HB 64	Caption: Relating to amending Statutes so as to provide that a marriage without good faith attempt to obtain license shall be null and void, but that lack of authority of the person who performs the ceremony shall not invalidate the marriage; clerical errors in the license shall not invalidate the marriage; parties who attempt a valid ceremonial marriage but an impediment exists shall in certain instances be deemed married after the impediment is removed; providing that this amendment shall not affect marriages consummated before the Act becomes effective.
HB 72	Caption: Relating to amending Statutes by authorizing the Railroad Commission of Texas to make and enforce rules, regulations, and orders in connection with the drilling of exploratory wells and wells for oil or gas and abandoned wells, to prevent pollution of the streams and water courses of this State, including sub-surface waters, which results from the escape or release of crude petroleum oil or salt water and other mineralized waters from such wells; providing report of uncapped wells.
HB 77	Caption: Relating to amending certain Statutes conferring upon the State Highway Commission the right of eminent domain acting by and through the Attorney General of the State of Texas, to condemn land for right of way in connection with the construction of a designated State Highway.
HB 95	Caption: Relating to amending certain Statutes by prescribing that the terms of all district courts, including criminal district courts, shall be continuous; providing for as many sessions of court in any county as the judge deems proper and authorizing him to adopt rules and regulations relating thereto; providing for trial of certain cases and performance of certain acts by district judges, including visiting judges, in any county in their respective districts.
HB 117	Caption: Relating to providing for the rehabilitation, clearance, and redevelopment of slums and blighted areas in cities in this State now or hereafter having a population of not less than 400,000, in accordance with plans approved by the city council of such cities.
HB 129	Caption: Relating to carry into effect the provisions of the proposed amendment to the State Constitution; defining certain terms; declaring the Texas Water Development Board to be a state agency; providing for the levying of an ad valorem tax of three cents per One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) valuation until December 31, 1960 and authorizing the Board to levy a tax of not to exceed such a rate thereafter to secure the issuance of state bonds; setting standards for determining the tax rate and providing for terminating the tax levy; making an appropriation.
HB 161	Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts by providing that cities, towns and villages may provide workmen's compensation benefits for their employees, either as self-insurers or by purchasing workmen's compensation insurance policies and that benefits so provided shall be in lieu of common law or statutory liability for injuries received in the course of employment and death resulting therefrom.
HB 195	Caption: Relating to the improvement of the judicial system by providing for an administrator for the courts and for an annual conference of judges; repealing Statutes relating to certain duties of the Advisory Judicial Council.
HB 325	Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts providing for the payment of the salary of the County Superintendent and his assistants and the expenses of his office.
HB 608	Caption: Relating to making an appropriation to the State Board of Control to be used in repairing and remodeling of the Old Land Office Building property placed under the custody and control of the Daughters of the Republic and the Daughters of the Confederacy; providing that the money expended and contracts entered into for the repairs and remodeling of such property shall be by and under the direction of the State Board of Control; directing the State Board of Control to consult and obtain the advice of the Daughters of the Republic and Daughters of the Confederacy concerning the repairing and remodeling.
HB 752	Caption: Relating to authorizing and directing the Board of Regents of The University of Texas to establish in Southwest Texas a Cancer Hospital and Substation of the M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute; authorizing the Board to accept gifts or donations and title to land, buildings, equipment and facilities donated for such hospital when furnished an abstract or other satisfactory certificate of title approved by the Attorney General; providing for conformance of such facilities to certain standards and that they be used for diagnosis, teaching, study, prevention and treatment of neoplastic and allied diseases under rules and regulations prescribed by the Board of Regents for M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute.
HB 756	Caption: Relating to authorizing any city, including any city operating under a Home Rule Charter, having outstanding water revenue bonds whose net revenues from its waterworks system for each of the two (2) fiscal years next preceding the date when it avails itself of this law are equal to or exceeds two hundred per cent (200%) of the requirements of principal and interest on such outstanding bonds for the year when such requirements are the greatest, to issue for the express purpose of providing funds for the refunding or redemption of its outstanding water system revenue bonds, general obligation bonds, and to be entitled to have paid into its general fund from its waterworks system revenues like amounts as would have been payable on the water system revenue bonds refunded or redeemed, in addition to any such payments provided by the terms of any contract regarding the issuance of its water system revenue bonds.
HB 758	Caption: Relating to amending certain Statutes by providing that Commissioners shall receive for their services Three Dollars ($3), for each day engaged in the performance of duties and providing that in counties of over five hundred thousand (500,000) population, the County Judge may set the fee of the Commissioner at any amount he may determine reasonable, not less than Ten Dollars ($10), and providing that Commissioners may withhold their decision until their fees are paid.
HB 759	Caption: Relating to prohibiting the sale, offering or exposing for sale of fireworks; providing exceptions; defining fireworks, regulating the manner of using fireworks under certain conditions, providing penalties for the violation of the provisions of this Act.
HB 782	Caption: Relating to amending certain Statutes by providing for salaries of official shorthand reporters in County Courts in counties of not less than five hundred thousand (500,000) inhabitants, according to the last preceding Federal Census, or any future Federal Census, and providing for the manner of payment thereof.
HB 849	Caption: Relating to providing that any person may not enter upon the enclosed land of another and therein hunt, fish or camp, without first securing permission of the owner, proprietor, lessee or agent in charge thereof; providing a penalty.
HB 913	Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts so as to provide that any county may into into long-term contracts with any agency, district or municipal corporation of the State where revenues derived from such contract by any such agency, district or municipal corporation may be pledged to the payment of revenue bonds issued by any such agency, district or municipal corporation.

HB 5	Caption: Relating to clarifying and amending the Laws of Texas relating to Optometry.
HB 59	Caption: Relating to authorizing any incorporated city or town which now has or shall hereafter have outstanding revenue bonds issued for the purpose of acquiring its electric and gas systems, or to refund bonds issued for such purpose, and payable from the new revenues of such systems, to issue additional revenue bonds for the purpose of extending and improving said systems.
HB 64	Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts by changing the name of "San Antonio River Canal and Conservancy District" to "San Antonio River Authority," redefining the area of said district, providing and changing certain powers thereof.
HB 88	Caption: Relating to amending statutes relating to venue of civil suits, fixing the venue of suits based upon crime or trespass so as to except from its provisions actions based upon negligence, and by fixing the venue of suits based upon negligence and stating the facts necessary to sustain venue in a county other than the county of defendant's residence.
HB 108	Caption: Relating to amending statutes relative to defining the appellate jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of Texas; defining the final appellate jurisdiction of the Courts of Civil Appeals so as to harmonize it with Article 1728 as herein amended; fixing the effective date of this Act and declaring the effect of the amendment on pending business.

HB 525	Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts by adding a provision entitling any member to his service retirement allowance who shall have completed twenty (20) years or more of creditable service as a law enforcement officer of the Department of Public Safety, Game and Fish Commission, Liquor Control Board, of the State of Texas.
HB 587	Caption: Relating to amending the Texas Election Code, regulating write-in candidates in elections held in this State and prescribing the method for becoming a write-in candidate; providing for the form of the ballot on voting machines where no person has qualified as a write-in candidate for an office; providing that irregular ballots cast on voting machines shall be counted only in the event they are cast for persons who have duly qualified as write-in candidates.

HB 37	Caption: Relating to creating two additional District Courts in and for Bexar County, Texas, to be known as the 121st Judicial District Court and the Criminal District Court No. 2 of Bexar County, Texas.
HB 105	Caption: Relating to providing that McNamara Vans & Warehouses, a corporation, shall be authorized to establish, operate and maintain a foreign trade zone at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.
HB 118	Caption: Relating to amending certain statutes relating to the compensation of certain District, County and Precinct officers in counties having a population of five hundred thousand (500,000) but not exceeding six hundred thousand (600,000) according to the last preceding Federal Census so as to include the County Clerk and to fix his salary; providing that the Commissioners Court shall amend the 1954 budget to provide additional compensation for the County Clerk.
HB 129	Caption: Relating to creating ten temporary special district courts, as follows: (1) the Special Second District Court, for Angelina, Cherokee and Nacogdoches Counties; (2) the Special 103rd District Court, for Willacy and Cameron Counties; (3) the Special Criminal District Court of Dallas County; (4) the Special 11th District Court, for Harris County; (5) the Special 55th District Court, for Harris County; (6) the Special 37th District Court, for Bexar County; (7) the Special Criminal District Court of Bexar County; (8) the Special 25th Judicial District Court, for Gonzales, Colorado, Lavaca and Guadalupe Counties; (9) the Special District Court of Midland County; and (10) the Special 92nd District Court, for Hidalgo County; extending the duration of the Special Ninth District Court of Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto and Trinity Counties; making an appropriation.
HCR 42	Caption: Congratulating the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity on its 50th anniversary at The University of Texas.
HR 153	Caption: Commending Uncle Henry Blair for his many years of service as House Porter.

HB 40	Caption: Relating to amending certain acts so as to authorize cities and towns, including Home Rule Cities, which heretofore have issued or hereafter may issue original bonds or refunding bonds payable from revenues of electric light and power systems, gas systems, water systems, sewer systems, or any combination of such systems, to issue additional bonds payable from such revenues for purposes of improving and extending such systems, such additional bonds to constitute a lien upon said revenues in order of their issuance inferior to the lien securing the payment of the bonds previously issued.
HB 109	Caption: Relating to providing that no pension or retirement benefit plan or system for employees of any Texas municipality, whether provided for by general or special law, city charter, or city ordinance, shall apply to employees of any Board of Trustees created or appointed in pursuance of Article 1115, Revised Statutes, or any similar law, except with the approval of such Board of Trustees and the making of provisions for the payments out of revenues from the properties or utilities operated by such Board necessary to meet all contributions to be made by the employer under any such plan.
HB 145	Caption: Relating to amending certain acts relative to Firemen's and Policemen's Civil Service in cities over ten thousand (10,000); providing that when the Commission shall have adopted rules or regulations by majority vote, shall have caused same to be reduced to writing, typewriting or printing and deposited in the Office of Director of Civil Services, such rules and such regulations shall be deemed to be sufficiently published and promulgated.
HB 249	Caption: Relating to authorizing the Trustees of any Independent School District created for public school purposes under any local or special law to order and give notice of any trustee, bond, tax or other election held in such district in the manner and time and containing the information required by the general laws of this state governing the holding of such election by Independent School Districts operating under such general laws, or as prescribed by any applicable local or special law; providing that either method shall be sufficient.
HB 273	Caption: Relating to amending certain statutes relating to pensions for policemen, firemen and fire alarm operators in cities having population of two hundred thousand (200,000) to two hundred and ninety-three thousand (293,000).
HB 550	Caption: Relating to providing for the clearance of slum and blighted areas for development or redevelopment in accordance with plans approved by the governing body of cities or towns; to create for this purpose a public body corporate and politic, to be known as the slum clearance and redevelopment authority, in each city and town of this State.
HB 694	Caption: Relating to amending certain statutes pertaining to salaries of the County Board of School Trustees in certain counties; providing that certain Articles shall not apply to counties of more than four hundred fifty thousand (450,000) population and less than five hundred fifty thousand (550,000) population according to the last preceding Federal Census.
HB 710	Caption: Relating to amending an Article relative to election for school tax in certain counties, providing that said Article shall not apply to counties having more than 450,000 and less than 550,000 population according to the last preceding Federal Census.
HB 748	Caption: Relating to providing that the Judges of the County Courts at Law in counties of less than six hundred thousand (600,000) population may act for the County Judge of the county in any juvenile, lunacy, probate and condemnation proceeding or matter, and also may perform any and all other ministerial acts required by the laws of the County Judge, during the absence, inability, or failure of the County Judge for any reason to perform such duties.
HB 749	Caption: Relating to amending certain acts so as to enlarge the population bracket to conform to the increased population of the several counties of Texas since the enactment of said law.
HB 771	Caption: Relating to amending the Interchangeable Jury Law so as to provide that in all counties now or hereafter having three or more district courts and two or more county courts at law the district judges, the county judge, and the judges of the county courts at law of such counties shall meet and determine the number of jurors needed for service in such courts.
HB 779	Caption: Relating to providing that the Judges of the County Courts at Law Nos. 1 and 2, of Bexar County, Texas, shall receive an annual salary of Eight Thousand, Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($8,250), payable in equal monthly installments out of the General Fund of Bexar County upon orders of the Commissioners Court.
