HB 62 Caption: Relating to abolishing the present State Board of Control and creating a new Board of Control; providing that this Act shall be effective September 1, 1953.
HB 78 Caption: Relating to repealing the "Automobile Inspection Law."
HB 236 Caption: Relating to repealing Chapter 388, Acts of the Fifty-second Legislature, 1951, providing the manner of transferring certain cases to the County Court of Eastland County, providing that certain process issued, bonds or recognizance made prior to the taking effect of this Act are valid and returnable to the first term of the county court.
HB 237 Caption: Relating to prescribing the minimum salaries that may be paid to the constables in each precinct of this State; providing the method of fixing the salaries of constables.
HB 255 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts to authorize trial judges and the Board of Pardons and Paroles to permit persons convicted for the first or second time of Driving while Intoxicated, to drive for the purpose of earning a livelihood during the period of automatic suspension of driver's license; providing for revocation of such permission.

HB 351 Caption: Relating to providing that state employees paid on a stated wage period basis other than monthly or yearly shall receive compensation on holidays in the same manner as salaried state employees.
HB 386 Caption: Relating to prohibiting the expenditure of any public money for the purpose of compensating any secretary or stenographer for any county superintendent in all counties having a population of thirty thousand (30,000) inhabitants or less, according to the last preceding federal census; providing this Act shall not prohibit the employment of a secretary or stenographer for a county judge.
HB 432 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts so as to reduce the number of members of the State Youth Development Council to four (4); providing for the functions of said Council; fixing the effective date of this Act.
HB 442 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts so as to authorize the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to transfer causes from congested District Courts to Counties wherein the docket is less congested, and to permit the assignment of retired Judges to try such transferred causes.
HB 443 Caption: Relating to authorizing and instructing the State Department of Public Welfare to contract with the University of Texas School of Dentistry for the making of dentures for old age pension recipients.
HB 668 Caption: Relating to providing a fine of not more than Twenty-five Dollars ($25) for the first conviction as a speeder, and a fine of not more than Fifty Dollars ($50) for subsequent convictions; providing for a speed limit applicable to persons convicted of speeding more than five times; providing that a governor may be attached to any vehicle driven by such person; providing for additional penalties of fine and imprisonment upon conviction again within six (6) months; providing for a list of speeders to be made available to law enforcement officers.
HB 840 Caption: Relating to fixing the open season for deer and turkey in Eastland County, and providing a bag limit on turkey; providing a penalty for violation thereof.

HB 296 Caption: Relating to providing that no compensation or salary shall be paid to any officer or employee of this State or of any district, agency, instrumentality, county or municipal corporation thereof for any period of time during which such officer or employee shall, for any reason, fail or refuse to discharge the duties of his office or employment.
HB 418 Caption: Relating to fixing the annual salaries for County Commissioners in counties of not less than ten thousand (10,000) and not more than fifteen thousand (15,000) inhabitants according tot he last preceding Federal Census or any future Federal Census at not less than Nine Hundred ($900.00) Dollars nor more than Nineteen Hundred and Eighty ($1,980.00) Dollars paid in equal monthly payments; repealing all general and special laws in conflict herewith.
HB 575 Caption: Relating to amending certain Statues by providing that any subscriber who willfully fails or refuses to make a written report to the Industrial Accident Board of any injury sustained by any employee or neglects or refuses to give said board any information required by said board which is in the possession of or can be ascertained by the employer by the use of reasonable diligence, shall automatically forfeit its charter to engage in any character of business in Texas and shall be fined for each and every offense.
HB 594 Caption: Relating to amending certain Statutes by providing for an annual Occupation Tax of Five Dollars ($5.00) to be collected from every "peddler," "itinerant vendor," or "transient merchant," defining same, and exempting certain traveling salesmen, certain producers of farm or dairy productions and certain other persons; containing a severability provision.
