HB 5 Caption: Relating to regulating the taking and possession of shrimp from and on inland lakes, bays, inland salt or tide water and passes and within one mile of such passes; regulating sale and possession of shrimp and providing for a bait dealer license and defining "bait dealer"; requiring and providing for bait trawl licenses under certain circumstances; providing penalties and automatic forfeiture of fishing privileges and licenses upon first, second and third convictions.
HB 705 Caption: Relating to providing for payment of an amount equal to one per cent (1%) of each bid on mineral lease and land sales as a special sale fee; providing that such special payments on high bids be deposited to the General Revenue Fund; providing that failure to remit the special fee shall not render a bid void; providing for demand of payment of such fee; providing a penalty for failure or refusal to make such payment.
HB 706 Caption: Relating to amending certain Statutes by providing for an increase in the amount of certain fees; fixing the effective date.
HB 753 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts by providing for the exemption of the owners, licensees and operators of radio or television broadcasting stations and their agents and employees from damages for defamatory statements made over such stations by one other than such owner, licensee or operator, or agent or employee unless such owner, licensee, operator or agent or employee failed to use due care to prevent such broadcast; provided due care shall be construed to include a bona fide compliance with any federal law or regulation; provided further that no owner, licensee or operator shall be liable for any damages from any defamatory statement uttered on the radio or television broadcasting station or on behalf of any candidate for public office; provided further in any action for damages the complaining party shall be allowed only such actual damages as he has alleged and proved.
HB 754 Caption: Relating to amending certain Acts to provide for geological, geophysical and other surveys and investigations of islands, salt water lakes, bays, inlets, marshes and reefs owned by the State of Texas within tidewater limits and that portion of the Gulf of Mexico within the jurisdiction of Texas, and all unsold public free school land both surveyed and unsurveyed, and all rivers and channels belonging to the State; providing for the promulgation of rules and regulations to prevent the unnecessary pollution of waters, destruction of fish, oysters and other marine life and obstruction of navigation; providing for the issuance of permits; providing a fee and directing the deposit thereof in the State Treasury to the credit of the Permanent School Fund; providing a fee and directing the deposit thereof in the State Treasury to the credit of the Land Office Mineral Fund; creating such a Fund; providing that said Fund shall be used for the enforcement and supervision of rules and regulations and all other lawful purposes involved in mineral leasing, exploration and development; making an appropriation out of said Fund; providing for the transfer of funds in excess of $30,000 remaining in said Fund at the end of the biennium ending August 31, 1957, to the General Revenue Fund.

HB 361 Caption: Relating to exempting from taxation the San Antonio Conservation Society, chartered by the State of Texas for the purpose or preserving historical landmarks and sites and making certain exceptions.
HB 605 Caption: Relating to amending statutes so as to provide that no action shall be brought in any court in any of the cases enumerated therein unless the promise or agreement upon which such action is brought, or some memorandum thereof, is in writing and signed by the party to be charged therewith or by some person by him thereunto lawfully authorized in writing.
